This would also include ensuring the adherence of legal and regulatory approvals and permissions as well as driving positive socio-economic development and outcomes for the local communities and region.

conducted an expansive search focusing on individuals working with the Innu and
Inuit peoples, as well as the Metis and First Nations people of Canada across
various industries where business partners with local indigenous communities
including mining, oil and gas, manufacturing and automotive industries. Our
team also considered those in relevant government, associations and consultancy
roles.
Identified
leaders were subject to extensive investigation of their reputation within
these communities and their proven commitment to advance business objectives through
transparent, meaningful and beneficial engagement.

leaders.
From
this, we placed an incomparable candidate from a senior leadership role within
the oil sands who brings extensive, and highly credible and relevant experience
working with indigenous communities; as well as previously working for the
Government of Canada as the Associate Director General for Indigenous Relations.
Since
assuming this role, the leader has successfully advanced meaningful engagement
with indigenous partners – businesses and communities, becoming a partner to
the First Nations Major Projects Coalition.
